Welcome to the 2025-2026 Huguenot Frostbite Racing Season!

HYC races ILCA 4, 6, and 7’s every Sunday afternoon from November through March.  We endeavor to complete six short-course races each day, with each race typically lasting 15 minutes. The season is divided into two 10-week series:  Fall/Winter and  Winter/Spring.  

Our fleet welcomes sailors of all ages and abilities, and we are supportive of one another.  If you're not already a member of HYC, you can join us as a Winter Member for a nominal fee. After racing, we gather for food and drinks and chat about racing.  

There will be special events throughout the season.  We'll have legendary coach and rules expert Dave Perry join us for a Sunday on the water and video session afterwards.  There is a Chili Cookoff in February.  At the end of the season, we have a distance race, the Execution Rocks Race Out and Return (ERROR) Cup, followed by the season awards presentation.  

We have charter boats available for the season if you need one.  We also have practice days on October 19th and 26th if you’d like to test the waters for a day before committing.

If you are too busy to come every Sunday, we have the option of sharing one boat between two skippers.

Season Costs to pay for race fees, safety boat drivers, and dock space:

-$575 for members

-$650 for non-members

-$525 for boat charter (subject to availability)

-$175 for 2nd skipper if you want to share a boat with another Frostbiter

Daily Entry Fees

-$50 per day or $100 per day including a charter boat

-Daily entry does NOT include boat storage on HYC property ($250).  There is an option to pay for boat storage at checkout if needed.  

-Daily entry participants are not eligible for season awards.

HYC Laser Frostbiting Mission Statement

• HYC Frostbiting offers great racing and friendly competition through the winter, from November through March.
• Our priority is keeping our sailors, mark boat drivers, and RC safe.  The PRO keeps an eye on the weather and makes the final decision to ensure safe conditions for sailing each Sunday.
• Our goal is to promote fair and rule-abiding sailing and to provide a platform for training and developing racing skills at all levels.
• Sailors are encouraged to sail clean and fast.  Aggressive and risky sailing is discouraged because of the cold temperatures, which often aggravate a maneuver gone wrong.
